Playground Update

The P&C were delighted that the first stage of the playground was officially opened by the Hon Bruce Notley-Smith MP, Member for Coogee on Saturday, 9 August 2014 at the penultimate Waverley Markets for that year.

A huge thanks to Waverley Community after school care, who matched the P&C funding.

Work started in September 2015 for phase two on the ‘passive playground’, an area which now provides more seating, a stage, a blackboard and more balance beams.

Also installed was one of the items many students had on the top of their list – a rock-climbing wall! To keep things safe it is a horizontal, not vertical traverse.

We also included new seating with traditional picnic tables and a decked seating area around one of the trees.

In 2016, we added more grips to the climbing wall and undertaken general maintenance.

It's apparent to any parent or school visitor just how much the kids love the playground and what a positive difference it has made.
