As well as updating web content and assisting with notes promoting P&C-run events, the communications co-ordinator collates content to go into the school's fortnightly newsletter, which is emailed to all parents/carers who have subscribed two Wednesdays a month during term.
If you have any information, updates, reminders and/or photos you would like included in the P&C News section of the school's newsletter, please forward it to the communications co-ordinator at bulletin@waverleyprimarypandc.org.au.

WAVERLEY WALKATHON - 3 JUNE
The Waverley Walkathon is one of our major fundraising activities each year. The success of the Walkathon is due to the enthusiasm of students and the support of their families and the community. There are great prizes to win! It is less than a week away! We will need some help on the day to cut up fruit, supervise the course and staff water stations. HURRAH!!! Waverley Public School P&C has been awarded a NSW government Community Building Project grant of $65,000 to upgrade the school playground equipment.

At the 18 March meeting, the school executive asked the P&C for an extraordinary donation of funds to support the purchase of new materials and resources for our children: Music - instruments $ 3,000 Guided reading sets $ 6,500 Home readers $ 6,000 Library books $ 1,500 Book stands $ 1,600 Book bags $ 600 Garden Equipment $ 700 Resource preparation/organisation $ 1,800 Sub-total $20,000
The P&C has agreed to fund this significant expenditure. The purchase of these resources has already begun so that they will be available for use in Term 2.
This donation would not have been possible without the fund raising efforts of the P&C in recent years. Thank you to all of the families who have volunteered their time or donated at our Car Boot Markets and other fund raising events.
NEW COMMITTEE – P&C EXECUTIVE 2013The P&C AGM was held on Monday 18 March. The following people were elected to hold the following positions for the 2013 school year: President - Julian Somosi (Axel, Year 3) Vice President, Primary - Mary Pazpinis (Christine and Despina, Year 5) Vice President, Infants - Sarah Klenbort (Kaitlyn, Kindergarten) Treasurer - Antonella Mangioni (Zac, Year 5 ; Phillipa, Year 3) Secretary - Kim Eberhard (Angus, Year 4) Congratulations to the new committee and a special welcome to Sarah, who is new to Waverley Primary School and the P&C. The personal rewards gained from working with an eclectic and diverse group of volunteers is tremendous. If you think you can offer new ideas and skills, or simply want to get involved, consider joining the P&C in 2013. You can do as little or a much as you want! WAVERLEY MARKET The P&C would like to say a big THANK YOU to all the families who volunteered their time and/or donated to goodies for our cake stall. The weather was beautiful and whilst numbers aren’t yet final we believe we raised between $2,500 and $3,000.

As you are aware, at the request of some parents, the P&C has facilitated a process to provide advice to the School on whether or not the start and finish times of our school should be changed. To this end the P&C ran a poll to canvass the views of all interested parents and carer families, the results of which are herewith attached.
The results of the poll have been forwarded to the School Executive.
Please remember that the intention of the poll is contribute to, but not to determine the decision made by the School Executive.
Parent sentiment is but one of several important factors that would be taken into account in the decision making process. |

This week's bulletin has the following topics:
CHRISTMAS HAMPER/RAFFLE TICKETS
- We are currently selling tickets to win one of our fabulous Christmas hampers - 1 large hamper, 3 smaller hampers, plus lots of other smaller bundles of prizes, as well as a voucher for half a ham.
- Tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10
- Tuesday and next Tuesday between 3:00-3:45pm outside the hall.
- The raffle will be drawn at Christmas Carols
